& James
Heritage
The James & James Collection is the one-stop shop for menswear, custom suits, and accessories in Spartanburg, South Carolina and the upstate of South Carolina. The men's clothing inside the store is picked by father and son James and Jameson Jenkins by a critical critique of quality and the lifestyle of the potential clients.
James Jenkins, Sr
With a discerning eye and over 30 years of experience, James Sr. is the quiet force behind the James and James Collection. Known for his refined taste and uncompromising standards, he built the store on the belief that true luxury lies in the details. His influence can be felt in every corner of the space—from the handpicked fabrics to the personal touches that elevate the customer experience.

Jameson Jenkins
Jameson brings a modern sensibility to the James and James Collection, blending classic style with a forward-thinking approach to menswear. As the son half of the duo, he’s the bridge between tradition and innovation—equally at home discussing heritage tailoring as he is curating the next must-have piece. His energy, style, and vision give the brand its contemporary edge.

Starting the James & James Collection
Decades of experience, a passion for fine menswear, and an unwavering commitment to quality—this is the foundation of James & James Collection. From an apprenticeship with one of the world’s finest tailors to opening multiple stores across the Upstate, James Jenkins has dedicated his life to helping men dress with confidence. Here’s how it all began.
1982
Apprenticeship with Lou Myles
At just 22 years old, James Jenkins began his menswear journey with an apprenticeship under renowned tailor Lou Myles in New York. Dressing legends like Frank Sinatra, Muhammad Ali, members of The Beatles, and countless more, Myles was a master of the craft, and under his mentorship, James gained an expert understanding of fabrics, styles, and the finer points of tailored menswear.
1989
Jenk’s: The Art of Dressing
By 29, James opened his first store, Jenk’s: The Art of Dressing, in downtown Greenville. Located at 213 N. Main St., it quickly became known for its elevated approach to men’s fashion, catering to professionals and style-conscious men seeking more than just off-the-rack clothing.
2002
J. Alexander in Spartanburg
Expanding his vision, James launched J. Alexander in downtown Spartanburg, continuing his mission of providing high-quality menswear with an unmatched level of personal service.
2010
James & James Collection in Greer
In partnership with fellow menswear expert James, James Jenkins opened James & James Collection in Greer. Together, they built a reputation for top-tier tailoring and an unwavering commitment to quality, solidifying their place in the Upstate’s menswear scene.
2018
James & James Collection in Spartanburg
Looking to expand and refine the brand, James and his son, Jameson, moved James & James Collection to Spartanburg’s historic Montgomery Building. This new flagship location marked a defining moment—bringing together decades of expertise with a fresh perspective, ensuring every piece inside the store reflects the highest standards of craftsmanship and style.
2025
