At James & James, creating your custom suit is a precise process, but never a complicated one. We guide you through every step—selecting fabrics, buttons, and stitching—until we achieve the perfect fit, tailored just for you.
From start to finish, you can expect the process to take as few as 30 days.
Consultation & Measurements
Your journey begins with a one-on-one consultation where we take precise measurements and discuss your vision. Whether you have a specific style in mind or need guidance, we take the time to understand your preferences, lifestyle, and the occasions you’ll be wearing your suit for. Our goal is to create a piece that not only fits your body perfectly but also complements your personal style.
Designing the Suit
This is where your suit truly starts to take shape. You’ll select from over 3,000 luxury fabrics, choosing details like the lapel style, button material, stitching, and lining. If you’re unsure of what suits you best, we’ll create a custom mood board to refine your aesthetic and guide you through each decision. We make the process simple, ensuring your suit is as unique as you are.
Review
Before we send your selections off to be crafted, we carefully review every detail to ensure accuracy. This is your final chance to make any adjustments—whether it’s a slight tweak to the fit, a different button choice, or a subtle change in the fabric. We leave no detail unchecked, ensuring your suit is exactly as you envisioned.
Making the Suit
Once finalized, your suit is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Italy or Eastern Europe, depending on your fabric selection. Every stitch is carefully placed to achieve an impeccable drape and structure. The production process takes between 30-60 days, ensuring exceptional quality before it’s shipped back to our store.
Final Fitting
When your suit arrives, we conduct a final fitting to ensure every aspect meets our exacting standards. Since it was made to your measurements, major alterations are rarely needed. However, we fine-tune small details like pant length or sleeve adjustments to ensure a flawless fit. Any final tailoring is completed within 1-3 days, and then your suit is ready to take home—crafted to perfection and uniquely yours.
